Offers training and job placement opportunities for military spouses

Washington, DC, Oct. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) is proud to announce its participation in the Department of Defense Military Spouse Employment Partnership, connecting military spouses with more than 390 partner employers who have committed to recruit, hire, promote and retain military spouses in portable careers.

The NRAEF officially joined the partnership on Oct. 16, 2018, at the annual Induction Ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Va. The partnership launched on June 29, 2011, to serve spouses from all military services and focus on reducing unemployment for military spouses and veterans.

“We are thrilled to support those who currently serve, those who are veterans and, now through this partnership, military spouses,” said Rob Gifford, executive vice president of the NRAEF. “This is another win to support military members and their families in transitioning into our industry and providing them with pathways to advance into long-term careers.”

The restaurant industry currently employs 238,000 veterans. By joining the Military Spouse Employment Partnership, the Foundation will become part of an even larger collective effort to support military spouse employment.

The Foundation’s military program seeks to help currently serving military, their families and all veterans transition into careers in our industry, bridging the gap between those serving our country and entering the workforce to reduce veteran unemployment. The Foundation also recognizes excellence in military foodservice at installations around the world through its annual Military Foodservice Awards.

Major Girah Caraballo uses difficult experiences, as building blocks to achieve her goals. Veterans Airlift Command (VAC) is assisting Major Caraballo by providing free air transportation from Boston, Ma to Syracuse NY so that she can report to Reserve Officer Training on Saturday morning.

BOSTON (PRWEB) October 26, 2018

Major Girah Caraballo uses difficult experiences, as building blocks to achieve her goals. Veterans Airlift Command (VAC) is assisting Major Caraballo by providing free air transportation from Boston, MA to Syracuse NY so that she can report to Reserve Officer Training on Saturday morning.

Girah has always set high goals for herself. Starting with graduating from the U.S. Army Basic Airborne Course at the age of 20. She started serving in the 82nd Airborne Division as an Airborne Jumpmaster. “I’ll never forget flying aboard a C-17 to Iraq and being greeted on the tarmac of Baghdad International Airport by my own father,” Major Caraballo recounted of her first deployment overseas, coincidentally her father’s last. Girah was proud to continue a family tradition her father, then Command Sergeant Major Rafael Caraballo (now Ret). Major Girah Caraballo served as a critical care nurse transporting casualties for Joint Special Operations Task Force Philippines in support of Operation Enduring Freedom Philippines 2012.

As a flight nurse Major Girah dealt with catastrophic injuries daily, she is now recovering from complex unseen wounds and injuries. Despite the challenges she’s faced with, she continues to set life goals and use these difficult experiences as building blocks which motivate her to achieve her goals. In this process, Major Girah has committed herself to attend Reserve Officer training one weekend a month from now until May. This training requires her to do a monthly travel to Syracuse to Boston, MA. VAC is doing this for the Major because commercial air transport presents financial and complex personal challenges related to her time in service.

VAC is an organization who makes it possible for wounded military personnel, veterans, and their families to travel long distances free of charge. Andre Bohy, president of Omni Financial, is a VAC volunteer pilot who has flown multiple VAC missions. He is committed to volunteering his time and his plane to transport anyone in need. Omni Financial is proud to support the mission by paying for the fuel costs.

Andre Bohy and Omni Financial appreciate Major Girah Caraballo for her unparalleled perseverance, dedication and service to this country.

Meridian Honda Welcomes New Vehicles to Showroom with Updates

$

The 2019 Honda HR-V has landed at the Meridian Honda showroom with smartphone integration capability on its trim grades above the entry-level version. Additionally, Meridian Honda product experts have detailed another vehicle that has yet to arrive.

MERIDIAN, Miss. (PRWEB) October 27, 2018

The 2019 class of new Honda models have already started to arrive at the Meridan Honda showroom. Shoppers looking for the latest crossover SUV, minivan and pickup truck options Honda has produced can see a comprehensive cross-section of those vehicles at the dealership. Additionally, Meridian Honda is paying tribute to those who have chosen to stand up and protect this country by offering veterans of America’s armed forces a special incentive to help them purchase a new Honda vehicle. Veterans shopping at Meridian Honda will be able to choose among any new vehicle in the inventory that hasn’t been previously titled.

Each 2019 Honda model that has arrived or will arrive at the showroom has a unique set of improvements. However, one model that may be particularly interesting to customers is the 2019 Honda HR-V subcompact crossover SUV. The new HR-V is still available in four well-equipped trim grades, LX, Sport, EX and EX-L. The biggest change to the 2019 Honda HR-V is the inclusion of Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ services on the vehicle’s trims above the entry-level LX model. Not only does the chief competitor of the 2019 Honda HR-V not offer this level of digital device integration, but it also comes up short in terms of available interior space. Potential buyers should contact the Meridian Honda showroom for more information about how the 2019 Honda HR-V compares to the competition.

One model that should be arriving soon is the 2019 Honda Fit. The automaker’s entry into the hatchback class is also available in LX, Sport, EX and EX-L trims and retains one of the most popular features in the Honda lineup, the flip-up rear seats. This allows it to offer significantly more interior cargo space than many of its competitors.

Veterans who want to use the discount program being offered at Meridan Honda should make sure they have the proper documentation ready to go. These documents can include a military ID card, discharge forms or Earnings and Leave Statements.

The entire Meridian Honda inventory can be viewed on the dealership’s website, http://www.meridianhonda.com. Buyers can visit the showroom that is located at 503 Front Street Ext. Meridian, MS 39301. Anyone with questions about any vehicles that are available or will be available can contact a Meridian Honda product expert today by calling, 601-693-4651. Reported by PRWeb 4 hours ago.
