I partied at the Brooklyn club named the 2nd best thing to do in the world. It was a wild night of dance parties, gravity-defying performances, and crazy costumes.· Time Out recently released its list of the 50 best things to do in the world right now. Brooklyn's House of Yes nightclub came in at second.
· The nightclub is known for wild parties with strange themes, circus performers, burlesque dancers, and more.
· I partied there last fall and found it to be a sensory overload of colorful costumes, pulsating beats, and dancers flying through the air. Needless to say, I was anything but bored.

Earlier this week, Time Out released its list of the 50 best things to do in the world right now. Coming in at second on the list is Brooklyn's very own House of Yes nightclub, a place that strives to be somewhere where just about anything can happen.

Opened in 2015, the club is the brainchild of New York artists Kae Burke and Anya Sapozhnikova. On any given night, party-goers might encounter trance DJs, aerialists, circus performers, marching bands, burlesque dancers, magicians, and tarot card readers.

The club is notorious for out-there parties with themes like Prohibition Disco, House of Love, and Bad Behavior. Costumes are just about required for any party at House of Yes, which makes sure things get weird.

It's likely that sense of wonder, discovery, and sheer craziness that led Time Out to put the club at the top of the list, which was curated by the publication's global editors based on 5,000 recommendations in 400 destinations from travelers around the world.

Last November, I headed to House of Yes to attend the "Ancient Aliens" party and talk with Burke and Sapozhnikova.

-House of Yes is located at the Jefferson L Train stop in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. Bushwick is a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood that has seen an influx of artists and young professionals over the last decade.--The place is hard to miss. The space, opened on New Year's Eve 2015, used to be a laundromat. House of Yes raised the ceilings and added all the lighting, sound, and theatre equipment you could imagine.--HoY grew out of NYC's Do-It-Yourself and Burning Man scenes, starting in a rundown loft in 2007 before moving to a warehouse a year later. The warehouse closed in 2014 due to rising rents. A year later they partnered with artists and nightlife veterans Justin Ahiyon and Ilan Telmont to launch the Bushwick space.-

Burke and Sapozhnikova never went to school for theatre or hospitality. When they first moved to New York at 19, they started working at legendary parties in the DIY scene like Rubulad and The Danger.

As part of those experiences they learned everything from theatre directing to acting, lighting, costume design, set design, and everything else involved in making live events.

Then they started developing those skills through their own events and parties at the various iterations of House of Yes.

Strong start by Mary Kom

There was sizeable crowd gathered at the KD Jadhav Stadium here on Sunday to witness two of India's most celebrated boxers, MC Mary Kom and Sarita Devi.

Both Manipuri ladies, now in their mid-thirties, didn't disappoint the crowd even though the results were in complete contrast.

For the five-time world champion and 2018 Commonwealth gold medallist, Mary Kom, it was an easy outing against Aigerim Kassenayeva of Kazakhstan as all the five judges ruled in her favour to ensure that she eases into the last eight of the light flyweight 48kg category.

However, Sarita was not so fortunate despite giving here all to lose a split decision 2-3 to Kellie Anne Harrington of Ireland in the lightweight 60kg category.

The 28-year-old Irish woman shattered India's dreams of making it a Perfect 10 in the tournament so far, with Manisha Moun, Lovlina Borgohain and Bhagyabati Kachari joining Mary Kom in the quarterfinals.
Kellie, a European medal winner, clinched the bout against Sarita with some decisive blows.

The 36-year-old Indian, making a comeback at the world championships after a gap of 12 long years, did had an advantage in the first two rounds but three out of five judges counted 29-28 in the favour of the Irish boxer.

"I thought I was a bit unlucky. Some points did not go my way. But I will continue to box as long as I can," a dejected Sarita said.

Mary Kom, on the other hand, got off to a positive start, landing a few quick punches and jabs against her Kazakh opponent.

The Member of the Parliament in the Rajya Sabha continued with her attacking game in the second, landing powerful punches to gather crucial points. It was only in the third round that Aigerim showed some fightback but it was too late by then. Mary Kom will take on Wu Yu of China in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

-*Manisha stuns world champion again*-

Apart from the two veterans, the day belonged to 21-year-old Haryana boxer Manisha Maun.

Having been pitted against reining world champion Dina Zholaman of Kazakhstan, Manisha didn't show any butterflies in her stomach as she stunned her much experienced rival in a one-sided verdict.

All the five judges gave Manisha a unanimous 5-0 decision as the Indian made it to the quarterfinals of the Bantam 54kg category.

This is Manisha's second successive victory over the Kazakh after the Indian had beaten her in Poland recently.

Manisha relied on her feet movement and evasive action to keep Dina at bay. Her combination of left-right clearly upset the Kazakh's strategy in the opening round. Though Dina came back strongly in the second, Manisha's speed to evade blows were at her best.

"I had beaten her once before (in Poland) and I focused on speed and concentrated on target areas. I did well in the first two but in the third it was even," Manisha said after the bout.

In the other bouts on Sunday, Assam's Lovlina Borgohain defeated Panama's Atheyna Bylon by a unanimous 5-0 decision to progress to the quarters of the 69kg welterweight category. Bhagyabati Kachari, on the other hand, defeated Germany's Irina-Nicoletta Schonberger by a 4-1 split decision in the 81kg light heavyweight category.Sarita Devi reacts after her loss

-*NOT HAPPY WITH DECISION: SARITA*-

A dejected Sarita Devi was unhappy with the judges’ verdict in her loss on Sunday but didn’t protest fearing another ban. “I am not happy with the decision (of the judges). The decision has gone opposite, I thought I had the upper hand in all the three rounds,” said Sarita after losing in a split 3-2 verdict. “But what do I do, I was banned for one year after the 2014 Asian Games controversy. So, I cannot say anything now. I don’t know why these things happen to me only,” she added.

-*Results (Indians only)*-

· 5:0 Mary Kom bt Aigerim Kassenayeva (KAZ) in 48kg
· 5:0 Manisha Maun bt Dina Zholaman (KAZ) in 54kg
· 5:0 Lovlina Borgohain bt Atheyna Bylon (PAN) in 69kg
· 4:1 Bhagyabati Kachari bt IN Schonberger (GER) in 81kg
· 2:3 Sarita Devi lost to Kellie Anne Harrington (IRE) in 60kg

This Veterans Day All Year Cooling partnered with Project We Care to help out the Veterans In Need Foundation, located in Pompano Beach, FL.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (PRWEB) November 19, 2018

All Year Cooling, a local South Florida air conditioning installation and repair company, is continuing their dedication to helping veterans year-round by donating a portion of all sales to Project We Care. This Veterans Day All Year Cooling partnered with Project We Care to help out the Veterans In Need Foundation, located in Pompano Beach, FL.

The Veterans In Need Foundation (VINF) is dedicated to providing various emergency services directly to veterans all around the country. The Foundation was founded by a team of veterans and volunteers who have a strong passion for helping struggling veterans and their families. Similar to Project We Care, VINF’s mission is to help these men and women become independent and productive members of society once again.

“Giving back to our veterans is something we take pride in at All Year Cooling, so naturally we value partnering with Project We Care to support The Veterans in Need Foundation on Veterans Day,” President of All Year Cooling Tommy Smith said.

As a non-profit organization, Project We Care created a system that works with veterans participating in the Veterans Administration VASH (Veteran’s Administration Subsidized Housing) and contacts them to discuss their individual needs. Care packages and gift cards are then arranged and delivered directly to the veterans.

Throughout the year, All Year Cooling gives back to the community. During the month of October, a portion of all revenue from AC installations is donated to Cancer.org to help fund the American Cancer Society’s research for breast cancer. For the holiday season, All Year Cooling hosts their annual toy drive which benefits the Broward and Palm Beach County Kids in Distress during the first three weeks of December.

“As a local business, we understand the importance of giving back to those who need it most in our community. We are proud to support these organizations and work with them year after year,” Smith stated.

More about All Year Cooling:

Established in 1973, All Year Cooling has completed over 350,000 air conditioner installations in South Florida. Their goal is to provide the consumer with the best overall value and service on new air conditioner installations, maintenance, and repairs. A2LA’s participation in the event is a testament to the organization’s recent initiative and pledge to hire and retain those who have served in the United States Armed Forces and their spouses.

Since the launch of the initiative in 2018, A2LA has implemented and revised a variety of new and existing programs and policies to better support veterans coming in to the association and throughout their career after serving in the military.

“In addition to the work experience they bring to the table, veterans coming in to our organization bring with them a skillset that we value and appreciate in those we hire, including leadership, dedication and someone who is hardworking and a team player,” said Lonnie Spires, A2LA’s CEO/President.

In return, veteran employees can expect to be met with a culture of innovation, teamwork and a family-friendly atmosphere. A2LA provides new employees with a tailor-made mentoring program, allowing those that come from the military to be successful even if they do not have direct experience in the accreditation industry. Veteran employees also have access to a variety of tools and training in the event they need assistance with transitioning in to a new career as well as resources on how to utilize their VA benefits post-military and much more.

WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) November 19, 2018

SAE International announces a new book that explains what electric aircraft stands for by offering an objective view of what can be expected from the giant strides in innovative architectures enabling aircraft electrification.

Fundamentals of Electric Aircraft addresses constraints and timelines foreseen to reach acceptable performance and maturity levels; and puts forward a general view of the progress made to date and what to expect in the years to come.

Through tangible case studies, a deep insight is provided into this paradigm shift cutting across various aircraft segments – from general aviation to large aircraft.

Drawing from the expertise of four industry veterans, Pascal Thalin (editor/contributor), Ravi Rajamani, Jean-Charles Maré, and Sven Taubert (contributors); Fundamentals of Electric Aircraft addresses futuristic approaches but does not depart too far from the operational down-to-earth realities of everyday business.
