Regency Place recently housed fellow senior living residents displaced by the “Camp Fire” taking place in Northern California, with the help of many organizations and companies in the community.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PRWEB) December 03, 2018

Regency Place, a boutique senior living community, recently housed fellow senior living residents displaced by the “Camp Fire” taking place in Northern California. With the help of many organizations and companies in the community, Regency Place was able to make room for seventeen residents while the fires blazed in their hometown.

On Saturday, November 10 Regency Place was alerted that Pacifica Senior Living in Oroville. CA was in need of evacuating its residents to a safe place. The staff at Regency Place immediately pulled together along with many local individuals, companies and organizations to make the move possible in a short period of time. Assistance came from AlphaOne Ambulance, Suncrest Hospice, Absolute Compassion, Fairoaks Estates, Green Valley Hospice and Right at Home Sacramento, all of whom were all instrumental in organizing supplies, donating items, and coordinating the evacuee move-in on Saturday.

“It was our pleasure to open our home to those in need. Everyone was so touched by this terrible fire that we would do anything we could to make a difference, and this was a significant achievement,” said Andrew Lee, executive director of Regency Place. “We would do it again in a heartbeat.”

In all seventeen assisted living residents from Pacifica made Regency Place their home for two days until they could safely return on Monday. While at Regency Place, the residents enjoyed all the pleasures of home in a safe, secure community. On Sunday all five of the men evacuated, who were veterans, were honored along with Regency Place’s veterans at a ceremony taking place at the community.

As one of the residents from Pacifica Senior Living noted, “this is the perfect haven in the fire.”

Corian(R) Design helps redesign training facility into a space for injured veterans to thrive

WILMINGTON, Del. (PRWEB) December 04, 2018

Since its inception in 2011, the Oscar Mike Foundation has stood for keeping injured veterans on the move. Founded out of the necessity to give injured veterans the ability to participate in adaptive sports despite high costs, the Oscar Mike Foundation offers a range of heart pumping activities adapted to the needs of injured veterans while providing them with the financial support to do so.

At the center of the action is the 9,000 square-foot Oscar Mike Compound and training facility located in suburban Rockford, Il. The compound can host up to 17 athletes at a time in a warm home environment while providing access to athletic training facilities and sports. During their time at the compound, the athletes form strong bonds and build a sense of camaraderie while engaging in daily activities and participating in outdoor sports including, kayaking, water sports, sky diving and flight lessons. The compound also is home to the only all-veteran rugby league — the Oscar Mike Militia.

“We wanted to help provide a space that could both function to the unique needs of the veterans participating in adapted sports, and provide a beautiful environment for healing to occur,” said Julie Eaton, Vice President and General Manager for Corian® Design.

The Corian® Design team worked with celebrity designer Jennifer Bertrand, a Designing Spaces™ regular, to give the kitchen and bath areas a new design while upgrading important functionality and ensuring ADA compliance.

“My vision for the space was to create an environment that felt like a hug to the soul. I used warm colors and soft yet durable materials to create a space that better functioned for these veterans,” Bertrand said.

“I selected a warm gray material palette integrating both DuPont™ Corian® Quartz and Corian® Solid Surface throughout the kitchen and bathroom to create a seamless and durable environment that can stand up to wear and tear,” Bertrand added.

The kitchen features a large island in Corian® Quartz that acts as a gathering space when preparing meals for guests to enjoy together. The Corian® Quartz used throughout the kitchen integrates seamlessly with the Corian® Solid Surface sink and features a leathered texture which offers a soft sheen and sophisticated look. The upgraded bathroom includes an accessible shower and vanity clad in the Corian® Solid Surface Neutral Concrete which makes the bathroom easy-to-clean and resistant to mold.

The episode will air on Dec. 4, 2018, at 7:30 a.m. ET on Lifetime. For more information on Corian® Design, please visit corian.com.

*ABOUT LOCAL PROCESSING CENTER INC.*

Hemp, Inc. entered into a majority ownership agreement with JNV Farms LLC for the hemp cultivation and processing company in Medford, Oregon.   As the majority owner of the now fully functional hemp cultivation and processing company, Local Processing Center, Inc. (LPC), Hemp, Inc. will be able to create a pipeline of industrial hemp and hemp products in states, where legal, on the West Coast. This makes Hemp, Inc. a bi-coastal hemp processing center in America with many more Hemp Local Processing Centers planned for other areas where Hemp is being grown.  Thus far, the company has created about 50 jobs in its LPC and also helps create even more jobs for the local farmer.  “A to Z” services for the farmers are available - from harvesting to drying, bagging, curing, storing, nitrogen sparging, machine trimming, hand trimming, extracting and selling creating a “one stop shop” for the small to large family farm. Daily updates on LPC can be found on Bruce Perlowin’s personal Facebook page.

*DAILY UPDATES ON FACEBOOK*

Hemp, Inc. strives to be one of the most transparent companies in the public sector. To adhere to this company policy of transparency, CEO Bruce Perlowin posts 1-minute video updates daily on his personal Facebook page to give an inside look and behind-the-scenes footage of what Hemp, Inc. is doing on a daily basis. “We want them to know how the company is performing and what it is doing to reach its goals,” says Perlowin. To see 1 minute videos of everything Hemp, Inc.’s current activities, go to Bruce Perlowin’s personal Facebook page where he posts daily on all the activity Hemp, Inc. is doing around the country. (No other public company has this level of transparency than Hemp, Inc.)

*THE UPCOMING DOCUSERIES*

Hemp, Inc. entered into an agreement with 2 Manifest Studio, LLC, a Wyoming, Limited Liability Company (VED), to create a documentary and subsequent docuseries over the course of an estimated five years.  Per the terms of the agreement, VED will create a feature length film and corresponding docuseries and other video materials about the history of hemp with a strong focus on Hemp, Inc. and other pioneers and companies that are leaders in the modern-day history of industrial hemp. The content will be wholly-owned by Hemp, Inc. 2 Manifest Studio Director Joseph Trivigno and his team have been tracking Hemp, Inc.’s progress, as executives meet with farmers throughout the country to document the company’s expansion into new markets.  The documentary is expected to be released by 2020. The docuseries is expected to follow the film’s release. The film crew will also capture hemp developments in markets around the globe.

*VETERAN VILLAGE KINS COMMUNITIES*

The company’s 500-acre strategic growing partner Veteran Village Kins Community in Golden Valley, Arizona, is also designed to grow hemp and produce CBD products to benefit veterans as well as generate revenue for Hemp, Inc., the Veteran Village and individual veterans living in the community. Hemp, Inc. executives are also continuing to scout new locations nationwide to open additional hemp processing centers in legal markets.

For a more complete description on the Veteran Village Kins Community (as mentioned above), read the following October 24, 2017 press release, “Hemp, Inc. Announces Strategic Hemp Growing Partner ‘Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.’ Completes Final Site Plan Blueprints”, below:

Hemp, Inc. has announced that its strategic growing partner, "Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.", has completed its final site plan blueprints for its 500-acre site in Golden Valley, Arizona (20 miles north of Kingman, AZ and 90 minutes from Las Vegas, NV). The site plan was submitted to the Mohave County Building Department for final review. The Company is also in the final stages of completing the necessary infrastructure to support an off-grid, renewable, energy system. With the solar equipment in place, the site's solar power operation will be completed in the next days.

As soon as the live streaming video cameras are up and operational, the world can actually see the way the Veteran Village Kins Community is designed and watch it being built. According to Perlowin, the basic framework or overall plan of the Veteran Village Kins Communities is to create a holistic healing and learning center that is designed to educate and heal veterans with PSTD, alcoholism, meth addiction, opioid addiction, and other psychological conditions while at the same time training them on the numerous aspects of being part of the emerging multi-billion dollar hemp industry.

We will also be building hemp-growing communities for other groups such as "Abused" Women & Children Village Kins Communities, the "Orphaned" Children Village Kins Communities, "Homeless" Village Kins Communities and the "Healers" Village Kins Communities (the healers are professionals who are knowledgeable in the modalities to treat these traumatized groups).  These particular communities are all synergistically aligned to work simultaneously supporting each other.

For example, the "Healers" heal the traumatized veterans and women & children; the women support orphan children, and orphan children want to see people living in homes and not homeless. Thus, a portion of the hemp grown in each community goes to create and support another community, giving everybody a sense of giving back and helping others as they help themselves. This circles back to the healers who also work to heal the veterans and the other traumatized groups. This is the economic foundation on how the sale of the hemp products operates as a "quantum economic matrix" or an example of "symbiotic economics" which is more complex than this brief description allows.

Dwight Jory, the Project Manager for the "Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.”, said, "We are very happy with the progress. Our Kins Community is really beginning to come together." In anticipation of planting to begin during the spring, 300 acres have been fenced, 16 overnight trailer park sites are under construction, and six 40x40-ft organic vegetable gardens have been planted and are currently producing food and kenaf, according to Jory. These organic gardens double as experimental growing modules using an entire array of different growing technologies to see which modalities grow the best in a desert environment. As for the 6 geodesic domes mentioned in an earlier press release, 1 is structurally complete with only the electrical and plumbing to be completed. The rest are on site awaiting final site plan approval.

"We are now accepting volunteers who have expressed an interest in helping to build the first Kins Community for our veterans," said Jory. Those interested in making the first hemp growing CBD-producing "Veteran Village Kins Community" become a reality should contact Ms. Sandra Williams via email (swilliams@hempinc.com).

One thousand trees, on 36 of the 500-acres, have also been planted, with an additional 1,000 trees on order. The "Veteran Village Kins Community" will include a 100,000-square foot GMP compliant, central processing plant, a state-of-the-art testing laboratory, and various health and wellness centers to support veterans who may have psychological, emotional or health issues.

"As Hemp, Inc. positions itself on the forefront of America's industrial hemp revolution, we see our partnership with 'Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.' being paramount in supporting the small family farm movement that we are confident will reshape the American landscape," said Perlowin. "As we work toward getting our eco-village up and running in Arizona, we are also aggressively scouting strategic locations in other states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia. Giving veterans and other Americans a place to learn new skills and take part in this multi-billion-dollar hemp CBD market is very exciting. It's a big part of our mission to give back.  Recently we have expanded our Kins Community concept internationally focusing, but not limited to, Israel, New Zealand, Canada, Africa, and Uruguay."

According to Perlowin, we hope to have 50 "master hemp growers" working on their first Veteran Village Kins Community in Arizona. To date, we have growers from Oregon, Colorado, California, Kentucky, North Carolina, Nevada and, Arizona who have expressed an interest in pursuing a joint venture with Hemp, Inc. to each grow industrial hemp on 5 of the 300 fenced acres in Arizona. Perlowin says he'll call this "The Great United American Hemp Grow-Off."  Any grower having an interest in pursuing a joint venture on 5 of the 300 fenced in acres in Arizona should contact Project Manager Dwight Jory. Or, anyone interested in attending the 2-7-day hands-on hempcrete house building should contact Dwight Jory as well. (Dates to be determined.)

*WHAT IS HEMP?*

Hemp is a durable natural fiber that is grown as a renewable source for raw materials that can be incorporated into thousands of products. It's one of the oldest domesticated crops known to man. Hemp is used in nutritional food products such as hemp seeds, hemp hearts and hemp proteins, for humans. It is also used in building materials, paper, textiles, cordage, organic body care and other nutraceuticals, just to name a few. It has thousands of other known uses. A hemp crop requires half the water alfalfa uses and can be grown without the heavy use of pesticides. Farmers worldwide grow hemp commercially for fiber, seed, and oil for use in a variety of industrial and consumer products. The United States is the only developed nation that fails to cultivate industrial hemp as an economic crop on a large scale, according to the Congressional Resource Service. However, with rapidly changing laws and more states gravitating towards industrial hemp and passing an industrial hemp bill, that could change. Currently, the majority of hemp sold in the United States is imported from China and Canada, the world's largest exporters of the industrial hemp crop.

9 GREAT REASONS TO INCLUDE HEMP AS PART OF A HEALTHY DIET (Source)

*HOW HEMP CAN CHANGE THE WORLD*

Fuel - While the industrial, medicinal and commercial properties of hemp have been known to mankind for a very long time, its benefits to the environment have just been realized in recent years. One of the compelling things hemp offers is fuel. Reserves of petroleum are being depleted. Right now, we are depleting our reserves of petroleum and buying it up from other countries. It would be nice if we could have a fuel source which was reusable and which we could grow right here, making us completely energy independent.

Industries in search of sustainable and eco-friendly processes are realizing hemp as a viable option. Hemp can provide an alternative, more efficient source of energy in the fuel industry. "The woody hemp plant is low in moisture; it dries quickly and is an efficient biomass source of methanol. The waste products produced by using hemp oil are a good source of ethanol. Both methanol and ethanol are produced from hemp through the efficient and economical process of thermo-chemical conversion. One acre of hemp yields 1,000 gallons or 3,785 liters of fuel. Hemp allows a lesser reliance on fossil fuels, which are non-renewable sources of energy and will not be able to meet the increasing global demands for long."

Petroleum fuel increases carbon monoxide in the atmosphere and contributes heavily to global warming and the greenhouse effect, which could lead to global catastrophe in the next 50 years if these trends continue. Do you want to find out if they are right, or do you want to grow the most cost effective and environmentally safe fuel source on the planet? Using hemp as an energy and rotation crop would be a great step in the right direction.

The Mission Continues Amplifies Veteran-Led Impact with a Multi-City Grant from Boeing

The contribution is part of an ongoing partnership to invest in veteran leaders

NEW YORK (PRWEB) December 04, 2018

Boeing recently announced a grant to The Mission Continues, a nonprofit organization that empowers veterans to find growth, purpose, and connection through community impact. With a notable footprint in over 55 cities nationwide, the funding will directly fuel The Mission Continues’ veteran volunteer force transforming under-resourced areas in Seattle, WA; St. Louis, MO; and Washington D.C.

The Mission Continues and Boeing share a deep-rooted commitment to veterans and positive community development. With Boeing’s contribution, The Mission Continues’ service platoons in these three cities will reach even greater local impact and engage increased numbers of veterans with a passion for service. Areas of focus for the service platoons address a wide range of challenges including neighborhood revitalization, homelessness, and educational inequality.

“For nearly seven years we have been proud to call Boeing a trusted partner and ally in our united efforts to empower veterans,” said Spencer Kympton, president of The Mission Continues. “Their renewed commitment to our operations in cities across the country advances our mission of veteran leaders building stronger communities through service.”

For the more than 60 million wall-mounted TV owners, hiding exposed wires, mounts and rear mounted accessories like cable boxes can be difficult and expensive. AV installers, interior designers and home owners now have a cost effective solution alternative from Smart AV Innovations, LLC (SAVI).

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (PRWEB) December 04, 2018

Most people do not want to spend over $400 to install a wall cabinet or spend thousands more on custom built-in solutions. AV installers, interior designers and home owners now have an alternative from Smart AV Innovations, LLC (SAVI). The SAVI Pro-Series Cover simply slips behind the TV to conceal and protect flat-screen TV mounts, cables and AV equipment from dust while providing a professional built-in look. AV experts agree that poor ventilation from wall cabinets and recessed installs as well as dust can affect image quality and shorten the life of flat-screen TVs.

Developed by AV professionals and built in Charlotte, the SAVI Cover is designed with a unique "X-brace" that provides a gentle press-fit between the TV and the wall that will automatically adjust to fit most wall mounted installations.· Two sizes will be offered to fit TVs from 50” to 85”
· Fits flat, tilting and some articulating mounts
· Installs in minutes with no tools or wall mounting hardware
· The special black stretch fabric cover is washable and breathable
· IR signals can pass-through to rear mounted equipment
· Protects the TV and rear mounted equipment from damaging dust
· US and Int’l Patents Pending

Greg Biddlecome, the owner of Vision Media and an AV Integrator in the Charlotte area, has been testing the SAVI Pro-Series Covers and says his clients love them. “One client told me that this was the best TV home decor accessory that nearly everyone needs, but nobody knows about,” he said.
Not only do the TV covers help protect your TV from dust that can ruin it, they make the whole space look better. “The SAVI Covers were a great way to upgrade the wall-mounted TVs and makes the space look cleaner,” said Kristine Smith, Community manager at Mercury NODA Apartments in Charlotte, N.C.

About Smart AV Innovations: Founded by two Audio Video industry veterans, Smart AV Innovations, LLC is a new Charlotte-based company that develops unique AV accessories to help AV professionals, designers and home owners better integrate AV equipment with their décor. The Pro-Series TV Wall Mount Cover will be available soon through select AV installers and home decor retailers. Reported by PRWeb 9 hours ago.

LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, Md., Dec. 04, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), an Alion company, announced today that representatives from its subsidiary, Enlighten IT Consulting, LLC, (EITC), attended the Second Annual Department of Defense (DoD) Artificial Intelligence (AI)  Industry Day on Wednesday, November 28 in Silver Spring, Maryland. DoD AI Industry Day is sponsored by the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), together with the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC). Enlighten’s team conducted a live demonstration of its Big Data Platform (BDP) AI capabilities, as well as enhancements to its proprietary Rapid Analytic Deployment Management Framework (RADMF^®) for government experts. The BDP is a government-owned, cloud-based analytics platform originally developed by Enlighten for the Defense Information Services Agency (DISA). It can be deployed by a DoD mission partner or government contractor in any environment. The company has assisted several customers in deploying their own BDP instances, and worked with them to obtain accreditation for the platform. Enlighten developed RADMF^® five years ago as a host of enrichment services for the BDP, and as a way to help facilitate adoption of the BDP across the DoD community. RADMF^® significantly reduces the time, cost, and number of engineers required to install, optimize, and maintain a complex platform like the BDP.

Enlighten continues to invest in research to develop enhancements that fulfill gaps the government may not anticipate, including its recent Cyber Learning Engine (CLE), a deep learning AI capability that automatically identifies malicious content in network data, and a comprehensive analytic solution called RAPID, which is a scalable web-based environment for dynamic retraining and continuous delivery of AI capabilities.

“Our team has worked extremely hard over the last five years to develop mission innovations for our government customers,” said Duane Shugars, Enlighten’s Senior Vice President and General Manager. “RADMF^®’s Security Development Operations (SecDevOps) suite of tools provides dynamic retraining, and the continuous delivery of algorithms, models, and analytics to not only detect and mitigate threats, but also help prevent them in the future.”

Roku users are streaming nearly 3 hours a day on average, and the most-searched term is for 'free' content

Roku users are streaming nearly 3 hours a day on average, and the most-searched term is for 'free' content· Roku executive Scott Rosenberg was interviewed Tuesday at Business Insider's IGNITION 2018 conference about his role in driving the company's advertising revenue.
· Rosenberg said that Roku customers are interested in ad-free content — so much so that the most-searched term on the Roku channel is "free."
· He also revealed that Roku users watch almost three hours of streaming content a day, on average.
· Roku is the most popular over-the-top (OTT) streaming device, but is facing growing competition from rivals Comcast, Amazon, and Apple.

Roku users watch an average of almost three hours of streaming content per day, and many crave a viewing experience that is advertising-free, Roku executive Scott Rosenberg said Tuesday at Business Insider's IGNITION conference.

Rosenberg, Roku's senior vice president and general manager of advertising, shared these statistics on stage at IGNITION 2018, Business Insider's ninth annual conference featuring leaders in media and tech. He talked about the cord-cutting trend, where users are consistently turning away from tradition "live" programs on television and moving toward on-demand entertainment through Roku and other over-the-top (OTT) streaming players.

"It's very clear to us at Roku that consumers are cutting and shaving the chord not just because they want more choices in the matter, but because they're looking for value," Rosenberg said. "So, free is a very important selection criteria as consumers get into OTT."

Much of Rosenberg's work revolves around finding the right balance between ad-free viewing that pleases consumers, and ad-supported content that brings in revenue. Rosenberg said that for Roku's users — who on average watch 2.8 hours of streaming content a day — advertisements need to be short, yet clickable and effective, in order to keep viewers' attention.

Despite Roku's efforts to keep ads at a minimum, its customers still crave content that is completely free of advertising. In fact, Rosenberg said "free" is the most-searched term on the Roku Channel, a one-stop channel for free content (some with ads, some without) that launched last year.

With 24 million users, Roku is the most popular OTT streaming player, beating out similar devices from the likes of Amazon, Apple, and Google.

*Read more: *'We outperform all of them': Roku is readying itself for competition from the likes of Amazon and Comcast as the streaming war heats up

--------------------

Competition is growing in the streaming and on-demand entertainment industry, however, as new players and industry veterans look to enter the market or expand their reach.

"I would say, broadly, consumers have so many more options now to watch longform, premium video in our living room," Rosenberg told Business Insider in November. "We all should expect that the traditional video distributors will feel compelled to compete more aggressively to keep consumer attention, and to compete at the price point that consumers are demanding."

*Tune in to Day 2 of IGNITION 2018, where speakers include Etsy CEO Josh Silverman and Barbara Corcoran from ABC's "Shark Tank:*

The collection features a growing array of colors and interchangeable magnetic emblems. Sold with a beautiful coordinating leather clutch; each design perfectly matches the shoes.
