On Jan. 7, the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) sent its 2019 Legislative Agenda to all members of the Virginia General Assembly, Governor Ralph Northam, Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax and Attorney General Mark Herring. · Enact state legislation to extend basic job protections by prohibiting employers from discriminating based on sexual orientation.
· Support a strong, efficient regional transportation network that is essential to our future economic competitiveness, security, and quality of life.
· Support offshore wind generation and the increased deployment of utility scale solar projects across Virginia to provide technology businesses with greater access to renewable energy.
· Scale the Virginia Telecommunications Initiative to increase private sector broadband deployment in unserved areas and maintain recent laws which facilitate the deployment of wireless facilities, including 5G.

A fundraising effort organized by GovX, the online shopping site exclusively for current and former military and first responders, has raised over $6,000 for Homes For Our Troops, the nonprofit organization that provides mortgage-free, specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans.

Homes For Our Troops is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted, custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans to assist them in rebuilding their lives. Trenegy, EVAN Release Key Findings That Businesses Don’t Have Adequate Day-to-day IT Support
Houston, Texas, Jan. 09, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EVAN, the on-demand platform for solving IT problems for businesses, and management consulting firm Trenegy Incorporated have announced key findings that show businesses do not have the IT support necessary for maintaining day-to-day operations. Trenegy, studying the effectiveness of various companies’ IT departments, spoke with more than 200 IT managers, directors, and supervisors across multiple industries, including manufacturing, oil and gas, and professional services. They inquired about issues these businesses face with their internal IT teams and their experiences with current IT help solutions.
The data collected indicates that 80 percent of IT managers were unable to spend sufficient time on value-added business initiatives. · 75 percent said issues were rarely resolved after the first attempt
· 70 percent believed help desk personnel were underqualified
· 32 percent said communication was difficult
· 17 percent said help desk personnel were inconsiderate

Leading Technical Cannabis Conference in San Diego Will Bring Together Industry’s Top Scientists to Present Latest Research and Developments
