Metal donation bins in retail centers across metro Phoenix and as many as six other states proclaim in large type they are "proud to support" the non-profit Children of Veterans Foundation. Some bins feature a photo of a child hugging a man in uniform, while others show a large American flag and encourage people to drop off clothes and household goods. "Donate and feel great!" signs on some of the bins read. "Give back to those who protect our freedom."
