Barfonce Baldwin was hired by DVNF to enhance fundraising efficiency, and enhance relationships with donors.
Washington, DC (PRWEB) May 02, 2014
The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (http://www.dvnf.org), a nonprofit veterans service organization that focuses on helping men and women who serve and return home wounded or sick after defending our safety and our freedom, has added Barfonce Baldwin to its team to serve as the Director of Development, a newly created position.
Ms. Baldwin was hired by DVNF CEO, Joseph VanFonda (SgtMaj Ret.), to build a broader and more diversified fundraising program for the organization and to cultivate donor relationships, a crucial element that he felt the organization lacked.
Ms. Baldwin is a seasoned professional with over fifteen years of nonprofit management, including ten years in donor relations and fundraising. She previously served as the Executive Director of the Capitol Hill Group Ministry as well as the Chief Administration Officer of the Central Union Mission.
She has been tasked with sustaining a strong and viable donor cultivation program, developing new sources of revenue outside of current fundraising methods, and diversifying DVNF’s financial portfolio to include major donors, foundation grants, and corporate gifts.
Ms. Baldwin will closely oversee DVNF’s outside fundraising consultants to improve efficiency and donor response strategy.
Ms. Baldwin’s initial projects involve auditing current processes of the organization and developing a long-term strategic development plan. She hopes that in the near future, DVNF can begin to add additional revenue streams through new donor initiatives and donor-focused annual giving campaigns, as well as corporate sponsorships.
“Barfonce Baldwin’s past success speaks for itself, and I have the utmost confidence in her abilities,” said VanFonda. “We are thrilled to have her on our team, and are optimistic about her long-term impact with DVNF.”
Baldwin has degrees in Management and Theology, and has studied at the following institutions: Old Dominion University, Potomac University, Andersonville Theological Seminary, and Central Michigan University. She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP – DC Chapter), American Management Association, American Grant Writers Association (AGWA), Center for Nonprofit Advancement (CNA), Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADP), and Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington.
In addition, she currently serves on the board of directors for Coalition of Homeless and Housing Organizations (COHHO) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). For more, go to http://www.dvnf.org.
