VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS) will host a 2K Walk and Roll on May 21 at 11:00 a.m. to encourage healthy activity while supporting homeless Veterans by donating food and clothing items.

The VA2K Walk and Roll is free and open to employees, Veterans, and the general public. VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System’s VA2K will be held at the VA Ann Arbor Medical Center, located at 2215 Fuller Road in Ann Arbor at 11:00 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, the 2K will be held indoors. Pre-registration is not required and those interested in participating should plan to arrive at the VA Ann Arbor Medical Center no later than 10:30 a.m.

“Worksite wellness activities enhance employee engagement and contribute to a more productive and healthy workforce,” said Robert P. McDivitt, VAAAHS Director. “Last year, we had 342 participants and received $5,461 in donations for Homeless Veterans, and we expect to surpass those numbers this year.”

The VA Ann Arbor Medical Center event is just one of many VA2Ks taking place on May 21 at VA facilities across the country. The event is open to people of all fitness levels and can be done over a lunch break. Whether you team up with a coworker, a friend, or participate on your own, there’s no better time to step up your fitness level and help improve the lives of homeless Veterans.
