The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (VAHCS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cory Price as Assistant Director effective June 29, 2014. In this key position, Mr. Price will have direct leadership oversight of several key services across the healthcare system to include Logistics, Nutrition and Food Service, Police, Prosthetics and Sensory Aids, and Voluntary Service.
With 3,800 staff and facilities in Bay Pines, Bradenton, Cape Coral, Naples, Palm Harbor, Port Charlotte, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Sebring, the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is one of the most complex of the nation’s 152 VA Medical Centers.
Price comes to the Bay Pines VAHCS with more than 15 years of federal government service, his most recent assignment being an administrator responsible for operations at the Orlando VA Medical Center.
He started his career as a commissioned Medical Service Corps officer in the U.S. Army where he oversaw helicopter ambulance employment and operations for nearly 12 years. This experience included both domestic and international operations in the continental United States, Thailand, Germany, Kuwait and Iraq.
In January 2009, Mr. Price left the military to pursue opportunities where he could continue to serve Veterans and their health care needs. He began his VA career at the Orlando VA Medical Center where he served as the Administrative Officer for Radiology and later Administrative Officer for Medicine prior to his most recent assignment.
