Mark Joye, the Head of the Ligation Department at the Joye Law Firm, has been elected to serve on the Board of Governors for the American Association for Justice (AAJ). Joye will serve as one of three elected officials representing South Carolina at the organization’s national level.
Joye was elected to this post by members of the South Carolina Association of Justice, the state-level of the Justice organization.
“I am both honored and humbled that my peers have chosen me to represent our state in this capacity,” explained Mr. Joye. “I firmly believe in the mission of this organization and will do everything in my power to help protect and preserve our American civil justice system, which is the best in the world.”
Over the past thirteen years, Joye have served the South Carolina Association for Justice in many leadership roles, including as a two-term Governor, Editor, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President and President. He has also served as President of the Charleston Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, on the Board of Governors for the South Carolina Bar Association and on the Executive Committee for the Charleston County Bar Association.
A Board Certified Trial Advocate, Joye has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has earned an AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating possible. His legal skills are best exemplified by his work as Lead Counsel in Jimenez v. Chrysler Corporation, a significant auto product liability case that achieved national prominence and remains the largest jury trial verdict in South Carolina history.
