[related tag ="cats" limit = 3] April through September, dubbed "kitten season" by AC&C, is a particularly busy season for the organization. Last summer, the shelter took in nearly 6,000 cats. Adoption fees, normally $25 to $50 for adult cats and $75 for kittens less than six months old, have been lowered to $5 for cats and $20 for kittens through Sunday. Potential adopters can visit the shelter's three Care Centers, open 12 to 7 p.m. every day: — Manhattan: 326 E. 110th St. — Brooklyn: 2336 Linden Blvd. — Staten Island: 3139 Veterans Road West Adoptions with the organization include vaccinations, a microchip, spay/neuter, a free office visit at a participating veterinarian and a free identification tag. Visit AC&C online, call 212-788-4000 or email the shelter. Follow Anna Sanders on Twitter @AnnaESanders
