From July 24th through the 26th, Warrior Gateway will be participating in a cross sector convergence of the minds to create an action plan to improve the lives of Washington State veterans and their families.
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) July 23, 2013
Starting tomorrow, July 24th, Warrior Gateway will be participating in a 3-day cross-sector summit to devise an action plan to improve the lives of Washington state veterans and their families. Convened by Washington State Senator Patty Murray, the summit calls for nonprofit organizations, government agencies and businesses to develop a clear action plan to improve the lives of the over 600,000 veterans and their families currently living in Washington state.
Alongside national nonprofits including the Sierra Club, National Military Family Association and Dixon Center as well as Pacific Northwest organizations Rallypoint/6 and Philanthropy Northwest, Warrior Gateway will help to identify innovative solutions to connect veterans and their families to the overwhelming number of resources and services available in local communities.
“Community collaboration is key to ensuring the smooth reintegration of our veteran and military family community,” said Devin B Holmes. “Following our strategy of National Support Local Impact, we are excited to support this summit to bring our expertise and our network of over 220,000 support organizations to help the veterans and military families of Washington state.”
As a national nonprofit, Warrior Gateway will bring suggestions of best practices from partner cities and states across the country working to reduce barriers for the military community. The summit serves as a unique opportunity for the organization to provide focused support for the greater Seattle areas bravest and finest men and women.
