This is Plymouth --
A GROUP of Army veterans have donated sports equipment to help the next generation stay active.
Members of the Devon and Dorset Veterans raised cash to buy new football kit for Tor Bridge Primary School, in Estover.
Cobblers and Keys, near Market Way, in the city centre, also donated new trophies to the school when old ones were damaged while moving to a brand new campus.
The school has joined with three other schools to create the Tor Bridge Partnership.
Sarah Tucker, from the school, said: "We had been lacking in football kits, but between the veterans they have raised money and provided us with the kits and lots of sports equipment.
"The football team is going to be able to play with pride in the kits and start the new season on a high.
"The kids enjoyed the visit very much and Tony Moody even brought along his bugle to play for them.
"They are now offering to come and do some sports with us, which will be great for the children.
"Hopefully this will be the start of a great partnership and it will be a good move getting the veterans involved to teach the children about respect and responsibility." Reported by This is 18 hours ago.
