Veterans’ now find affordable dental care with the “Share a Smile with a Vet” program.

While the Department of Veterans Affairs provides dental benefits, many veterans are not eligible for this dental care. Concorde Career College, Inc., a private post-secondary educational institution that trains healthcare professional prides itself on giving back to area communities. Their Dallas campus introduced the “Share a Smile with a Vet” program to address the overwhelming need for uninsured veterans to receive access to affordable dental care.
The pilot program for “Share a Smile with a Vet” was started by the Concorde Dental Hygiene program in Kansas City to meet the dental needs of area veterans and is now extending into Dallas to address similar needs. The program allows Concorde’s Dental Hygiene students to provide dental care for these individuals and their immediate family members until they can obtain employment and receive dental care through their employer.
The program provides veterans with many free dental services for a year, along with the same services for immediate family members at just $5.00 per service.
Dental services include:
· Comprehensive exam by a dentist
· Dental cleanings
· X-rays
· Periodontal cleaning (deep cleanings)
· Sports guards
· Sealants
· Fluoride treatments
All work will be performed by Dental Hygiene students under the close supervision of a dentist and the faculty at the Dallas campus located at 12606 Greenville Ave., Suite 130, Dallas, TX 75243;
