Military Friendly Schools ® announced today that the Student Veterans of America has joined the upcoming series of virtual college fairs as event partners, further connecting active military, veterans and spouses with student veterans and representatives from leading schools. The event can be found at http://www.militaryfriendly.com/event.
The virtual college fair is the first to pair members of the military community seeking education directly with student veterans and school representatives from pre-screened Military Friendly Schools® using interactive online events technology. The event, scheduled for September, will allow active military, veterans and spouses from across the globe to get a real “boots on the ground” perspective of campus life, and engage digitally one-on-one with admissions representatives, enrolled military students and representatives from the Student Veterans of America.
"The upcoming virtual college fair will provide an unprecedented opportunity for service members, spouses and veterans to engage with our organization during the school search process,” said Michael Dakduk, Executive Director of the Student Veterans of America (SVA). “The interactive, virtual format is especially efficient for introducing service members deployed overseas or those still in uniform to our SVA chapters on school campuses nationwide."
The event is the first to offer networking and peer-to-peer resources to military students during the school search process. "We're thrilled to partner with the SVA and showcase their nationwide chapters in our upcoming virtual college fairs," said Sean Collins, Vice President for Victory Media, event sponsor. "The SVA is a leader in creating peer-to-peer support networks on campuses across the country and fits our long history of providing world-class resources to the military community."
The Military Friendly Schools® designation process includes extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 12,000 schools nationwide approved for VA education funding. The school survey, methodology, criteria and weightings are developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board (AAB) consisting of educators from schools across the country and are independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media. Any school interested in participating in the virtual college fair must first submit a Military Friendly Schools® survey and compete for the designation. The annual survey is administered for free and is open for all schools from March-June at: http://militaryfriendlyschools.com/survey. Criteria for consideration can be found on our website: http://www.militaryfriendlyschools.com.
