The Corporate Gray Job Fair for the Military Community is expanding to include a standalone Franchise Fair for Veterans because companies value military veterans as both corporate employees and business owners. Corporate employers, government agencies, and franchisers will recruit military veterans to join their organizations at a special military-to-civilian career event in Springfield, Va. on September 13th.

Fairfax Station, VA (PRWEB) August 21, 2013

Corporate Gray, one of America's leading military-to-civilian career transition service firms, will partner with the Veterans' Transition Forum to add a "Franchise Fair for Veterans" to its next "Military-Friendly Job Fair" on Friday, September 13, at The Waterford Reception Center in Springfield, Va. Both events will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and are free for all transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses; civilians are also welcome to attend at no charge.

Before the fairs begin, Phil Trigg of Veterans' Transition Forum and Nicole Porter of the Small Business Administration will discuss Franchising Opportunities at a one-hour seminar at 8 a.m. and subsequent mini-seminars throughout the Franchise Fair. Stephanie Goetsch, President of Spark Career Strategy, will also be presenting an 8 a.m. seminar titled "Job Fair In & Out Mastery: How to Make a Lasting First Impression."

Representatives from the Small Business Administration, along with franchise mentors who have prior military experience, will be available to discuss business opportunities at the Franchise Fair. Veterans will meet face-to-face with franchisors who are actively recruiting veterans to become business owners.

The Corporate Gray Military-Friendly Job Fairs attract dozens of employers and hundreds of candidates. Participating employers that want to hire military service members and veterans at the September 13th event include Lockheed Martin, Amazon, State Farm, Engility, Coca-Cola, Boeing, GEICO, Sentara Healthcare, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Department of State, Camber, Alion Science, Allstate Insurance, First Command Financial Services, Milton Hershey School, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., Prince William County Police, and many more.

"Military veterans have the leadership experience and motivation to be successful in the civilian workplace as employees and as business owners,” according to Carl Savino, who has worked both in Corporate America and as an entrepreneur running Corporate Gray. "Veterans have many of the skill sets that franchisors are seeking. There are more than 500 franchise companies that offer financial incentives to veterans," said Phil Trigg, founder of Veterans' Transition Forum.
