The Heroes Among Us Vet-Am Golf Tournament aims to raise donations for two veterans programs while extending appreciation for all veterans at the prestigious North Dallas golf club

Prestonwood Golf Club in conjunction with Warrior’s Night Out, a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) charity organization, announced the Heroes Among Us Golf Tournament and Gala set for November 8, 2013. This kick-off to Veteran’s Day weekend will be a day-long celebration of all Americans who have donned the military uniform, while raising money for two wounded veteran-based programs.
Wounded veteran golfers will be paired with participating teams throughout the day while the evening gala in the Prestonwood Golf Club ballroom promises to be a celebration and appreciation of all veterans from all branches of the military. A ceremonial coin will be produced and distributed to all attendees and participants.
The Heroes Among Us Vet-Am Golf Tournament and Gala aims to raise money for two deserving wounded veteran-focused programs: Ride2Recovery and Help Our Military Heroes. Ride2Recovery provides wounded veterans with physical and emotional rehabilitation outlets while rebuilding their confidence in their own abilities. Help Our Military Heroes donates modified vans to veterans who are otherwise unable to drive and find themselves wholly dependent on others for transportation needs.
“This is about them, not us,” says Heroes Among Us tournament chairman Mike Kratze. “When we sat down to plan a day of appreciation we wanted to create an exciting event that would raise the level of appreciation our veterans receive, give our participants a first-hand chance to thank veterans, as well as to raise as much money as we possibly can for these two amazing programs.”
Mike Brauer, a prior service Marine and founder of Warrior’s Night Out says, “These two programs do incredible work for our wounded veterans and I’m looking forward to raising as much money as we can to add to their offerings.” He adds, “This event is going to be a wonderful day – by paying tribute to our nation’s greatest and raising awareness and donations for our programs – what a great way to mark Veteran’s Day.”
