Americans focused intensely when veterans visited the U.S. WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. during the federal government shutdown.

The chairback covers “are rolling billboards,” says Paulsell. The wheelchair displays clearly announce “WWII Veteran” in large letters. The firm also manufacturers custom back covers for hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and other facilities.
The patriotic veteran-themed wheelchair backings will be used on all Central Missouri Honor Flights. Approximately 300 veterans a year fly from central Missouri to the D.C. WW II, Korean and Vietnam memorials.
“We want the public to know these men and women deserve our respect,” says Paulsell.
Paulsell, and her husband Steve Paulsell, are owners of WheelchairPersonalities. They also know the needs of veterans flying to the D.C. WWII Memorial. As Honor Flight volunteers, they have assisted 1,500 veterans visiting the national memorial.

Jan Bell, a volunteer with the Central Missouri Honor Flight program, says the 70 donated wheelchair backings are a big hit with World War II, Korean and Vietnam veterans flying to Washington, D.C. war memorials.
Seeing the patriotic covers in use “makes all of us proud. More people notice the veterans and know who they are by seeing the backing.”
