Industry Veterans Launch Laudio to Solve Health System Staff Burnout

$

Boston, MA, Oct. 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- *Laudio*, healthcare’s first Staff Relationship Management platform, has been launched nationwide to solve the industry’s pervasive burnout problem. Developed by Boston-based healthcare IT entrepreneurs, Laudio uses artificial intelligence to predict and prevent staff burnout, through more frequent, timely, and relevant manager interactions. This new software-as-a-service solution reduces turnover rates, which saves even a medium-sized acute care facility millions of dollars on annual replacement costs.

In an era defined by cost reduction strategies, managing staff burnout, or churn, has become a top priority for all health systems. This priority is perhaps most critical for nurses, one of the largest segments of the hospital workforce. For example, the average nursing staff turnover rate is 16 percent, per year, with the cost of replacing one nurse averaging $66,000.  As a result, the average hospital is forced to spend $5M-$10M annually on nursing turnover, alone. This expense is even greater when extended to all health system staff, beyond nursing.

Founded by a team led by Russ Richmond, MD, Laudio was developed following his recovery from a nearly-fatal skiing accident. According to Richmond, during his lengthy hospital stay, he received high-quality and compassionate care from a large number of bedside staff, but also came to understand that his caregivers felt both underappreciated and overburdened. Motivated by his first-hand experience and his previous success building nurse and physician-based technology solutions, he founded Laudio to address the root causes underlying staff burnout.

“We set out to understand why high-performing staff were disconnected from their workplace and burning out in their role,” said Russ Richmond, MD, the CEO at Laudio. “Once our research identified that the manager was a key leverage point across a variety of the issues, we developed technology to equip these managers with data intelligence, personalized recommendations, and workflows to proactively and sustainably engage with every member on their team. Our goal is to facilitate one billion timely and meaningful manager-driven interactions through Laudio by 2028.”

The Laudio Staff Relationship Management platform is delivering results. “As hospital leaders, we realize that our managers play a critical role in building a supportive and positive team culture,” said Joel Ray, VP Patient Care Services/CNO at UNC Rex Hospital. “Laudio gives our managers insights into their staff that previously took hours and days to manually uncover, plus the integrated tools to build meaningful relationships that lead to stronger employee engagement and retention. It has changed how managers manage.”

Laudio aggregates vast amounts of data imported from the health system’s data sources. Using research-based benchmarks, Laudio’s algorithms calculate turnover risk for each staff then continually generate data-driven observations. Laudio quickly becomes the manager’s unified digital workflow by eliminating the manager’s need for multiple software logins, paper-based notes, and time-consuming work-arounds, while allowing them to collaborate with colleagues.

“We know that the right engagement with the right staff, at the right time, can prevent burnout and reduce turnover.  With Laudio, we now have the technology to make this possible, and to improve workplace culture in health systems everywhere.  We also look forward to measuring and quantifying impacts on patient satisfaction, safety, and quality, as well as extending the tool to physicians”, said Dr. Richmond.

“We believe that a more engaged staff achieves better outcomes and engagement begins with the frontline manager,” said Mr. Ray. “Laudio gives our managers an innovative way to complete their workflows, cultivate stronger relationships, and connect to their staff on an unprecedented level.”

About Laudio:

Laudio is healthcare’s first Staff Relationship Management platform. Developed to reduce employee burnout, Laudio helps frontline managers make more frequent, timely, and relevant interactions with each staff member. The Laudio platform also digitizes workflows to save the manager time and to drive best practices across teams, which results in stronger staff engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Laudio drives superior culture while allowing health systems to generate >11:1 ROI by retaining staff and avoiding replacement costs, contract labor, and overtime expense.

New strategic alliance enables Homecare Homebase customers to build higher performing referral networks and more effectively utilize sales resources

DALLAS (PRWEB) October 23, 2018

Homecare Homebase, the leader in enterprise software solutions for the home health and hospice market, and Excel Health, the leading source for current and complete post-acute outcomes data and performance analytics for the healthcare industry, announced today a strategic alliance that will enable the two companies to combine real time referral data from the Homecare Homebase (HCHB) system with the most recent market data and analytics from Excel Health. The new partnership will revolutionize business development for HCHB customers.

“Our customers are the largest and highest performing agencies in the country, and we constantly strive to bring them the tools and insights they need to profitably grow their businesses in today’s value-based care economy,” said Scott Pattillo, Chief Strategy Officer at Homecare Homebase. “By aligning with Excel Health, we are pleased to provide our customers with the most current and precise market data. Now, they can accurately evaluate the potential of referral partner opportunities and gain insight into their own performance metrics to facilitate data-driven, comparative conversations with physicians, healthcare facilities and health plans.”

Now that Excel Health is a Homecare Homebase Preferred Vendor, the two companies will collaborate to offer joint customers several game-changing advancements. Most notably, HCHB Referral Source Link (RSL) and HCHB Analytics customers will be able to access the most recent and accurate facility and physician referral share data from within their existing workflow. The physician data not only includes clinicians tied to institutional claims, but also all professional claims across all care settings. This level of visibility will allow agencies to better target office-based referrals and better understand those physicians who could influence referral decisions further upstream.

According to Ian Juliano, CEO of Excel Health, “We are redefining the way agencies develop relationships with referral partners and build high-performing networks. By partnering with the industry’s most advanced and successful EMR solutions, we believe we can not only reach more care providers, but also make a positive impact on how hospitals and physicians view and utilize post-acute care services to improve patient care while containing unnecessary care delivery costs.”

In addition, the two companies will collaborate on several new automated products that match real time referral data from HCHB customers with the Excel Health solution that captures and analyzes the more than 1.2 billion Medicare claims annually. These new products will help joint customers more efficiently and precisely target referral sources that have the highest potential to benefit from their services and create a competitive advantage in the market.

Unlike other market data providers that use complex formulas to estimate physician volumes, referral behavior and performance metrics, the Excel Health solution provides the actual physician office-based claims from the Medicare Part B data set in addition to the Part A data, which in turn allows sales and business leaders to more easily engage referral sources in evidence- and performance-based conversations and overall growth strategies.

Homecare Homebase customers who are interested in learning more about the Excel Health solutions and the integration process with the RSL solution can learn more by visiting http://www.excelhealthgroup.com. Contact the Excel team at info(at)excelhealthgroup.

ABOUT URBANE CAFE

Known for its fresh fire-baked focaccia breads, hand-carved meats and hearty salads, Urbane Cafe is a consistent favorite on Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor and other restaurant review websites. Popular with health-and-budget-conscious customers for 15 years, Urbane Cafe is a lunch and dinner destination for families and business people who want a fast, fresh, affordable meal. The lunch and dinner menu at each Urbane Cafe restaurant features fresh, healthy sandwiches and salads served in a warm, inviting setting. Catering and Take-Out are also popular. Though the restaurants span from Southern California to the Central Coast, owner Tom Holt retains a close, hands-on role in every aspect of the business, ensuring that standards of quality are consistent throughout the chain.

URBANE CAFE HISTORY
It all started in 2003 when owner Tom Holt realized there was a missing niche in the Ventura restaurant scene. He wanted a great sandwich and salad – something different, while still being dedicated to delicious tasting food. He understood that every great sandwich starts with the freshest of bread, so he designed the cafe around a hearth oven. Working with his friend Pete, they came up with a bread recipe that was soft, delicious and baked fresh, right in front of your eyes. It didn’t stop there though, he created a menu centered around locally sourced ingredients, juicy-roasted meats, and crafted sauces to give each creation its own unique flavor. Urbane Cafe loves being the place where friends, family and communities gather to celebrate and make memories over delicious food. Our passion is to have our guests walk out happy every time and keep them coming back for more. Reported by PRWeb 11 hours ago.

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (PRWEB) October 23, 2018

Hundreds of community members and leaders came out Saturday, October 20 to celebrate the grand opening of Tesoro Viejo, the newest master-planned community in southeastern Madera County in Central California.

“Tesoro Viejo has finally arrived,” said Brent McCaffrey, president of Tesoro Viejo Development. “We are thrilled to unveil this new community on this stunning piece of land that connects neighbors to each other and nature.”

The celebration was kicked off with the flag salute led by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1981 and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Town Center, featuring Madera County Sherriff Jay Varney, Madera County Fire Chief Nancy Koerperich, Madera County Board of Supervisors, Fresno State cheerleaders and mascot Timeout, Valley Children’s Hospital mascot George, Madera Community College District mascot Maddie, Minarets High School drumline and cheerleaders, as well as business and community leaders.

“We are excited to finally introduce you to Tesoro Viejo – a community that has been in the works for us for more than a decade,” McCaffrey said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “And, you can also say it’s been in the works for Madera County for more than 25 years.”

Families and community members enjoyed the music by the Minarets High School Show Band, a train around the Town Center, face painting, balloon art, and food provided by Axis – the brand new coffee bar and eatery. The smell of kettle corn was in the air, as guests also enjoyed popsicles and mini donuts.

Guests at the grand opening had the opportunity to meet the inaugural homebuilders who provided the first look of the floor plans and renderings of the homes that will be offered at Tesoro Viejo.

Guests were also the first to see the new Madera County Fire Station No. 7 – “Lucky Number 7” and the Madera County Sheriff substation located right in the Town Center. The brand new fire engine was on hand, as guests toured the new 4,600-square foot building. The new fire station and sheriff substation will serve not only the residents of Tesoro Viejo, but also residents of southeastern Madera County.

“Tesoro Viejo is an excellent example of good planning and partnership,” said Madera County Supervisor Brett Frazier. “We commend the Tesoro Viejo Development team for their foresight and planning to ensure the necessary public services are in place from day one – they are funding this important public service that will benefit the residents of Tesoro Viejo, and also residents in southeastern Madera County.”

Located in the Town Center is “The Hub” – Tesoro Viejo’s innovative Welcome Center with approximately 7,800 square feet – that will feature Axis, a neighborhood coffee bar and eatery, plus multi-use offices. In addition, the event lawn will deliver an exceptional outdoor atmosphere for community entertainment and activities.

Eclectic and lively, Axis Coffee Bar and Eatery is now open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will offer fair-trade coffee sourced from around the world in a warm and welcoming environment. The seasonal food menu is thoughtfully sourced and utilizes organic and local produce and meats. BOSTON (PRWEB) October 23, 2018

MaidPro has ranked fourth on Franchise Business Review’s 2018 list of the 100 Most Innovative Franchise Brands in the U.S. and was first on the list in the Cleaning & Maintenance category.

The list’s ranking was based on franchisee satisfaction of the country’s leading franchise brands. To gauge satisfaction, a 33-question survey covered leadership, training, and core values, in addition to personal questions pertaining to the type of lifestyle franchisees achieved and level of enjoyment they found in their franchise business.

MaidPro President Richard Sparacio said, “At MaidPro, we are constantly evolving so we can lead our rapidly growing industry with best practices, supported by our state-of-the art software, creative marketing, and proven business strategy. And we also rely on innovation to better serve our franchisees by creating solutions that provide them with a quality work-life balance and manageable hours, while still offering them low start-up costs and recurring profit.”

MaidPro was previously recognized by FBR this year as a Top Franchise for 2018, a Top Franchise Leader and as a Top Franchise for Veterans.
